A Singer's Voice...

Though a few decades have passed, in the room you could feel the air of yesterday. It was as if time stopped just for that little cottage deep in the mountains of Puerto Rico. Visiting the Hacienda Buena Vista (which used to be one of the greatest coffee producers in the island) with the kids from the tutoring center I work at, I spotted this beautiful Vintage Singer sewing machine in incredible condition in their summer cottage house. Now, this place became a sort of museum so the house and coffee plantation aren't in use anymore; I'll be posting more pics of the house and the beautiful scenery later on. Isn't the machine a beauty? I'd love to have that in my room!

  4. divine! i'm going to be in the market for a machine in september. i regret that i didn't let my mom teach me to sew :( i found it sexist of her to suggest. sigh. she had one just like this. now i dream of making beautiful gypsy clothes and would have to spend thousands of hours hand-sewing!

  5. We had one of these sewing machines in our house when I was really little. I used to jump on and paddle the wheel on the bottom, pretending it was a car! This is a gorgeous one.
