Let True Beauty Show

Why must real beauty be portrayed as unnatural and imperfect? I personally think they look lovely in their un-photoshopped pics.

  1. I agree! I can't even remember what magazine it was...maybe In Style, where they photographed a number of famous women without any makeup and they were just as gorgeous, if not more so than their made up pictures.

  2. I love seeing celebrities un-photoshopped! They look so much prettier minus the airbrushing, because they look like real people! :)
    The shiny, flawless girls on magazine covers look nice, yes, but they're fake. I prefer seeing people the way they are. <3

  3. I quite agree with you. I think it is a major step backwards in our society and culture to "edit" people this way. Truly beautiful people aren't airbrushed...when will magazines get that this type of "look" is actually boring?

  4. So true! Some people look so obviously photoshopped on covers it is ridiculous. Who does the media think they are fooling. No body walks around with flawless skin like that.

    This reminds me of the cover dispute about kim kardashian. The original photo from her cover photo was leaked and people were calling her fat and ugly. I don't know much about her, but I'm glad she stuck up for her un-edited photo.

  7. I like the softness of the photoshop aesthetic, but I definitely think it could be achieved without completely removing the natural beauty.

  8. haha, yeah, due to the wonders of photoshop, alot of people can easily end up looking like barbie dolls , flawless, but a tad frozen and freaky 0_0

    wow, it's great that you can sketch!! i can draw... okay, i'm unable to finish that sentence, which is rather pathetic of me =P

  10. I hate photoshop. I really don't understand why so many people are using this porgramme.

  11. I personally prefer the un-photoshopped images. I have nothing against, say, removing a zit form your face when it's going to be on the front of a magazine seen by millions of people, but we really can't justify the over photoshopping we do.

  12. Me too...natural beauty is the best. I think beauty is when someone is real and not superficial. Superficiality drives me crazy. What a lovely post! Happy Friday love. xoxo

  14. I never really noticed that photoshopping was so blatant until a friend recounted one of his classes where they had to photoshop the hell out of models for mag covers ^^;

    Well I guess with rampant plastic surgery to look 'more perfect', that's the standard that the mags are trying to achieve...

  15. All beautiful without the 'aid' of Photoshop. Sometimes they airbrush the cover shots so much, it looks like a cliched stock image! Hope you're having a beautiful weekend dear.

  17. yea. because in the fashion world, having lines on the face or fat in magazines is a taboo.

    sometimes the flaws and imperfections you have is what makes a woman so beautiful

  21. erre erre! i totally agree! all this media is destroying women's self esteem little by little, they should lay off people's back, and just embrace every imperfection. i personally feel people are looking much alike nowadays, haha
