Marry me in a black dress

Guys, don't get me wrong, I'm not getting married anytime soon, lol. I felt like blogging about bridal fashion because I'm just in love with the ethereal beauty of elaborate gowns that are only worn once in a lifetime!

My little sister in law and I were chatting the other day about wedding dresses (she just loves talking about gowns and fairies) and she suddenly said out of nowhere that she pictured me getting married in a black dress. So yes, she is aware of my sometimes strange fashion sense, but black?

I did some searching, and found out that in some European countries, around the early 1900's, the traditional wedding dress was black or of any other dark color. I particularly think it's a beautiful color though it could send a wrong message like "oh, horrid I'm getting married, this is like my funeral". Though, the color makes a beautiful dress.

So the question is, would you wear a black wedding dress, or would you stick to the traditional white gown?

If the skies were blue and the sea were pink...

Honestly, I'm a hair accessory junkie. I adore them, collect them and simply thrive to come up with the coolest designs in hair gear for my shop. Now, when I find someone that shares my same fixation, life becomes so sweet. So, when I found Lindsey's hair accessory line I just had to give in to the sweet temptation. Tattie Tats is the name of her Etsy shop, and all her accessories are made with Vintage neckties; which means she designs killer hairclips and headbands while keeping gorgeous neckties out of the landfill, how awesome is that? I can't wait to come up with outfits to wear it so, in the meantime magazine inspiration is what will keep me sane!

I present to you all my new hair clip! The Kelly Tattie Pin, ain't it cute?

Accessories should bring life to your outfit and your face. Love how the makeup color scheme looks with the clip. =) Lovely pinks and icy corals and blues to match with it.

I am so in love with the Preppy look, I'm planning on teaming the clip with an awesome black blazer, slim skinny jeans and lots of golden necklaces. Oh, and I also think that clipping it to the necklaces would give the accessories a unique look no one has. ^-^

Got the make up, got the look! So why not match it with my gum too?!

*Kudos to this years' September Issue of Elle for all the pics and to Lindsey for such an awesome accessory! *
So, what about you, do hair accessories make you wild?

Rainy days are good luck days...

The magic of being in an unknown place, is indescribable in it's entirety. It's as if every inch of it is uncharted territory and a new celebration goes on as you go about discovering.

Music school is most definitely a different world; uncharted on my map. Suddenly spacing out is now a norm for me, I just remain ecstatic at times, realizing that I'm living my dream; I'm not dreaming it anymore.

My first day of class was an incredibly stormy day, must apologize that I'm not including outfit pics in this post because I misplaced my camera's charger and it's been dead for a while. =( However, I could manage to take only one shot of the weather while I was on the train before it went battery dead. I'm loving these...

Sorry for being such a bad blogger and not posting for almost a week, been so tired lately I've even gone to bed around 10pm this whole week!
How has your week gone??
Take care guys! =)

PSS: BY this weekend I'll have fixed a surprise post about something ultra special I got in the mail! =)

Turn over a new leaf...

"A crisis is an opportunity riding the dangerous wind" ~ Chinese Proverb

I stare at this blank post, trying to figure out a way to write what I feel without sounding like I'm in a rant (which I'm not really). In recent times I've been feeling somewhat frustrated, discouraged and disheartened. Lots of things have been going on, forcing me to readjust and find inspiration in other things (hence the crazy amount of inspiration posts). Unfortunately, all teachers (including me) got laid off at the tutoring center because of lack of funds, we were told we'd be back by October. I've been trying to get a job in my field of study and been rejected to every position due to lack of experience, (how in the world will a recent grad have experience if no one provides them a chance to show themselves worthy!). I think this point has been what's taken over my sanity lately but...

I want to live life, I don't want life living me!*that's my new shirt*

So, I'm turning over a new leaf. I'm resorting to the first loves of my life, music and design, to keep me sane. Maybe life is sending me a message; it's time to be who you want to be. That's the reason why I applied for music school, I'm answering to the calling I feel in my heart. I'll always design (my love for accessory design will never die and I'll keep more and more busy with the shop now that I'm jobless).

It's time to take this hard time and turn it into something else, something that will change my life forever. Lol, I even prepared a list of things that I want to work on, if you guys have any ideas, share them with me! =)

1) I'm going to work into making this blog a lot more personal, not just inspiration and my fashion/style advice & ideas. I'll add more outfit posts, since I'm going to have more time to.

2) I'm going to be happier about things that occur, see an opportunity to grow and excel.

3) I'll keep you all posted about my new life as a music student (musicians are designers of melodies, lol) and how my personal style goes evolving.

Now about my new style image this semester...
I've been thinking I'd love to add some prep to my wardrobe, so I'm totally inspired by these:

Thanks for hearing me out everyone, any ideas you think I should incorporate or mix with my preppy chic fixation?
=D

A little bit of French and a whole lot of style

John French was an extraordinary fashion photographer. Born in London, he had his own photographic studio in 1948, immortalizing beautiful models and revealing the best of fashion and style.Sorry for all the inspirational posts, lately I've been needing lots of that. I've been tuning into music and magazines now that my new school year begins ( yes, I'm so thrilled to start music school) searching for ideas for songs and of course my style, which I'm working on.
Thanks for bearing with me!
Also I'd like to know if there is anything you'd like to see in this blog, any ideas or suggestions would be great!

Red is the color of Love...

When in doubt wear red.
--Bill Blass

I've been feeling quite red lately. Although, my wardrobe isn't filled with
this color (it's more or less filled with blacks and blues) it's the color
I've been craving.

I definitely want lip color like that, lol.

Fashion Wonders in Wonderland

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see? ~ Alice In WonderlandI am head over heels, loving the costumes of this new Alice in Wonderland movie. I find it absolutely wonderful that using Alice's blue dress as inspiration, costume designers could come up with such beautiful designs and incorporate them to this new, grown up Alice; which I believe doesn't lack style.
Do you love the new Alice in Wonderland?
