Hello...

Hello... is there anyone out there? Is there anyone there?
I sometimes feel this way with the blogging world. I feel as if this is now just a popularity game; how many comments you can get, how many views do you have, followers, fans...
Where did the real feeling of just expressing oneself went? Where did the just read a blog because you are into what a blogger has to say go to?
I lately don't know how to feel about this big sphere of blogs, but all I know is that it's feeling emptier and emptier.

Sorry for the rant...

  1. IT's kind of an addiction isn't it? I post, check for comments, check analytics to see how many views I get, check back for comments... I think it's a little bit about validation and also a little bit about making a connection. If someone has stopped by to read a post that means we matter. This of course id coming from a SAHM with minimal contact with the outside world...

  2. I know what you mean. It' so easy to get caught up in how many followers you have, or becoming "internet popular," especially now that the blogosphere has gotten SO massive. I try to block all that out most of the time, though, when I can. If I ever start feeling like blogging has become a chore, or I ever stop feeling truly happy and appreciative when I see a new comment or follower, then I'll quit. The best part of blogging is interacting with other people, not the statistics behind it. <3

  7. This is exactly how I feel! I signed up because I wanted to share food and thoughts but sometimes I feel like it just isn't enough. I look at other blogs, the way they advertise and comment just to get others to view their blogs, and it just makes everything feel so cheap. I could go on and on...but I'll stop before I say something too mean.
