The Girl From Ipanema

Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking

And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah

When she walks, she's like a samba that swings so cool and sways so

gently,

That when she passes, each one she passes goes - aah

Ooh But he watches so sadly, How can he tell her he loves her,

Yes he would give his heart gladly,

But each day, when she walks to the sea

She looks straight ahead, not at he...

What song is stuck in your head??

Marc Jacobs meets Clarissa Explains it All

Neon, crazy styled tights, oversized shirts, wild hair, awesome yet strange prints, polka dots and stripes and plaid all in the same outfit; this is all yelling the 90's to me.
As a child that grew up in that era, I must say I was tortured ehh dressed this way by my mother who insisted I looked adorable and that I should stop complaining.
Now looking back, I'm glad I was forced into dressing like this; it was actually pretty cool!

Marc Jacobs' S/S 2010 collection is screaming 90's hot neon colors and wacky prints, this neat bag of his totally caught my eye; and as other bloggers are saying; it yells out Clarissa!

For those that may not know, Clarissa Explains it All was a great show aired in the early 90's and who's main character was portrayed by Melissa Joan Heart. I personally loooooved the show, I thought it was so cool to have your best friend climb thru your window instead of using your door. =)

Did your mom torture you with any style???

I don't believe in miracles, I believe in dreams coming true...

I don't believe in miracles, I believe in dreams coming true. I am certain that when you wish something with all your might; it may not be now or maybe it may not even be in a while; but in due time you will see it materialize right in front of you. If you work hard and believe in yourself, there are no obstacles you cannot overcome.

There are no impossibles...

An Angelic Point of View - Part I

Photography is what I believe immortalizes a moment, besides memory, photography is the only other medium that can capture an instant in time and make it last forever.

Angelica Minier, a sweet photographer that I only have met through email -and how happens to be a friend of my sister's - makes of every moment she can capture, an eternal display of life and color. I just had to interview her after my sis showed me her flickr.

1) What inspires you the most; colors, a place, a song; what motivates you and brings a picture to life?

Photography is memory. It is a moment or an image that we want to keep forever. Everything is inspiration: sometimes a song, sometimes
a person who smiles to you on the street, sometimes a place you see from the window of your car, sometimes a flower that seems to say it all when the wind moves its petals, and sometimes it is nothing; sometimes you don't want to photograph anything and sometimes you want to photograph everything. And there are no motives: photography itself is the reason for doing photography.

2) If you could take only one picture to one thing in your whole life, what would it be, an object or person and why?
I would take a photograph of what I feel when I am with those persons that makes me smile, just to feel that way every time I see it.
A photograph of those who are not here and I would like to see again. A photograph of my mother when she smiles, without telling her, just capturing the moment. A photograph of my father when he has nowhere to look and he looks around, just to capture that look that makes him a vulnerable man. And a photograph of the happiest moment of my life, but I know that in that moment I will be so busy being happy that I'll forget to take that photograph.

3)
Describe the process of photographing something, the models, the clothes, the makeup, the places, how do to choose all that?
Regarding that type of photography that you have to planned, in my case it takes a long period of time between one photo shoot to another. That is because these photos requires more time to be planned properly. What comes first is the idea, it usually comes when I see a place where I want to do a photo shoot ... and then I think about the concepts, the clothes, the makeup, etc.. It is always the place that inspires me, it tells me the colors, the shapes,it is the place itself which helps me to paint the picture in my mind that will become the photograph. Then I contact the models that I want to be part of the project and choose a date for the shoot. By the time we are in place everything flows: I see a stone and I want to sit there on the model, I look at a flower and give it to her and she poses, I ask her to walk, to look at me in a certain way... The eye and the camera become one: what you look or want to look is saved in the camera, the image is created. As for spontaneous photography, it happens everyday, at any time. The contrast between the two types of photography is very interesting, while one requires a creative process that takes time, the other can be done in a second.

This is only the first part of the interview so stick around for more of her work.

A Material Girl at Heart

I'm a material girl at heart; I cry when I can't find my favorite vest in the immensity of my closet (ok, it's not that big just really really stuffed), I dread every time I must say goodbye to a pair of boots that have well served past their useful life period and I seem to go in comma when I can't afford that gorgeous dress I fall in love with every time I visit the mall (gosh, it's $88.00 dollars, I can buy a whole wardrobe with that -ok maybe not a whole wardrobe).

Material Girl is a sweet magazine that my sister just had to buy from Magazine Cafe.com, just because we both fell in love with the photo shoots. If I'm not mistaken, it's a German/Austrian magazine that shares the same enchantment as our dear Lula Mag. The pictures are whimsical, the themes are a dream; even if we don't understand what the words mean!

Have you heard of Material Girl??
School is coming up in a week and gosh xmas break went by so fast I barely noticed it! Any of you started school already??

A Full House of Style

The Olsen Twins have done it again.*all of you guilty of loving these girls' style, please stand up - stands on chair* I adore anything these girls come up with (with the exception of using fur and such). They did great with The Row and Elizabeth & James and now they are back for more. Mary-Kate and Ashley are now up and at it with their *finally* affordable line Olsenboye exclusively for JCPenney. Ok, so yeah, maybe I'm a bit late to post this up (the line was launched in Nov.) but I just discovered this and as every good lil' Olsen Twin fan, I had to share this with all of you. The line seems really sweet and fun. It's like the perfect mix between hip city girl and comfyness.

What do you guys think? Love the duo and their new line?
